Dual-phase flow in two-layer porous media: a radial composite Laplace domain approximation

Abstract The main purpose of this work is to present an interpretation method for injectivity test in a two-layer reservoir that can be extended multilayer approach, based on new analytical solutions the well pressure response. developed formulation uses radially composite approach and considers water front propagation may approximated by piston-like flow displacement. assumed laterally infinite properties such as permeability porosity different each layer. were Laplace domain then inverted real using Stehfest Algorithm. proposed was validated comparison with numerical simulator. Results showed good agreement between simulator model. Also, sensitivity study done comparing results scenarios varying oil viscosities injection rate assess how these affect derivative profiles.
